How to Use the Glidelock Clasp Extension of your Rolex

The Rolex Glidelock clasp is a system that allows you to adjust the clasp without the need for any tools.

It allows you to quickly and precisely adjust the bracelet length up to 20mm in 2mm increments, making it ideal for adapting to wrist size changes due to temperature or activity throughout the day.

The Glidelock extension system can be found on the following modern Rolex models:

  • Submariner

  • Sea-Dweller

  • Cosmograph Daytona on Oysterflex

  • Yacht-Master on Oysterflex

  • Sky-Dweller on Oysterflex

To use the Glidelock:

Flip open the safety catch, and then open the main clasp to expose the underside of the bracelet and the Glidelock mechanism.

Look for the side of the bracelet that is connected to the Glidelock track inside the clasp. You’ll see a series of notches in there.

Gently pull or “pop” the adjustable side of the bracelet out from the clasp. The bracelet will now rest at a slight 45 degree angle from the clasp, allowing it to slide.

Slide the bracelet up or down along the notched track to your desired position. Remember that each notch represents a 2mm adjustment.

Once you’ve found the ideal length, press the bracelet back down into the clasp until it clicks securely into place.

Finally, fold the clasp shut and secure the safety catch.

Your watch is now ready to wear with the adjusted fit.
